Logo sting

A short animation of a brand's logo that opens or closes a video.

A logo sting is a short animation of a brand's logo, a few seconds at most, that opens or closes a video. It is also called a logo reveal, a logo intro or, when it frames a series, a bumper.

What it looks like

Picture a dark frame. The wordmark builds letter by letter; while its last letters are still settling, the mark draws its outline and fills in; then the full lockup holds still. That is the logo bumper recipe in the remocn skill that ships with Studio, in three beats:

  1. Wordmark build. The name assembles, word by word or character by character.
  2. Mark reveal. The mark draws, scales or assembles in, overlapping the end of the wordmark so the energy doesn't drop.
  3. Hold. The lockup stays still for 30–45 frames (1–1.5 seconds at 30 fps), so an editor can trim the sting cleanly.

The recipe defaults to about 4.5 seconds, hold included; ask for a shorter one if you need it. The order can flip: in the animated logo reveal recipe the mark comes first.

When to use it, and when not to

A sting belongs at the edges of a video: before a launch video, after a demo, between episodes, or as a post of its own. Make it once and reuse it; that is why it opens a motion brand kit.

  • A simple appearance is enough when the sting closes a video that has already made its point, or when the brand is quiet: a fade or a short rise on an arrive-and-settle curve (see easing).
  • Give it character when the sting is the brand's signature, opens a series or carries a launch. The mark can draw its outline, assemble from parts or land with an impact, and the wordmark can build with a stagger.

Where stings go wrong:

  • Changing the logo. Animate how the mark arrives, not what it looks like. A redrawn, traced or restyled logo is a different logo.
  • Over-decorating. The bumper recipe calls this the format where decoration is most tempting and most wrong: one accent color, no glow halo, no blur clouds or drop-shadow rings behind the mark, no gradient text. Confetti only on an explicit launch or milestone.
  • Leaving before it reads. If the next scene starts the moment the mark lands, nobody sees the finished logo. That is the "result disappears before it reads" symptom in Studio's review checklist; the hold fixes it.
  • A restless background. A slow, muted background can move; one that competes with the mark cannot.

How to ask for it in Remocn Studio

A 2-second logo sting: the mark draws in, then the wordmark.

Studio works from the brand in Settings › Project › Brand: up to three logos (on light, on dark, and the mark alone), colors, fonts and logo usage rules. Each new video captures that brand as a snapshot, which the agent receives on every turn. Prefer an SVG mark: the "draw" style needs an outline path to trace.

On Pro, the pipeline's Brand stage recovers each identity asset from its original source instead of redrawing it. If no usable original turns up, it asks you to upload the file or capture the page; a drawn, traced or restyled replacement can't complete the stage.

When the sting is right, ask the agent to save it as a component with the entry role. Saved components lead their role's group in the Components view, so the next video can open with "Start with our logo sting."

Ready-made components

remocn has no ready-made logo sting component for a single mark; the bumper recipe has the agent write the mark's entrance as a new component in your project. Logo Enter is not a substitute: it is a stack of round brand chips for a "works with" row, not one logo. These pages cover the parts around the mark:

  • Per Character Rise: the wordmark's letters slide up, crisp and even.
  • Tracking In: letter-spacing collapses and blur clears in one springy entrance.
  • Outline Trace: each glyph draws as a stroke, then fills.
  • Blur Out Up: a soft upward exit into the next scene.
  • Your brand: hand the agent your logo, colors and fonts once.

A sting's curves come from easing, and a wordmark built letter by letter is a stagger. A sting usually ships with a lower third in a brand kit, and a mark that is uncovered rather than drawn uses a mask reveal.

recipe

Animated logo reveal

A 2–3 second logo reveal from your own brand: the mark draws in, the wordmark follows, the lockup holds.

post

A motion brand kit: logo sting, intro, outro, lower thirds

Build the moving parts of your brand once, from a DESIGN.md or a moodboard, and start every video from them.

term

Easing

The curve that sets how an animation speeds up and slows down.

term

Stagger

Offsetting the same motion across a group so each member starts a little later than the one before.

term

Lower third

A name or title plate that sits in the bottom third of the frame, telling the viewer who is speaking or what they are looking at.

term

Mask reveal

Content uncovered by a moving mask while the content itself keeps its size and place.
